Facebook

After several months of internal battling, I finally decided to create a Facebook page for my work.

Wait, internal battling? Well, let me put it this way – it’s easy enough for me to share my work with strangers, but sharing what I do with people I know…..I always find it scary. I’ve chosen to follow surface design and illustration as a career, to work for myself and build my brand, and I can’t lie, there’s been criticism the entire way. “Why can’t you get a normal job?” being the most popular line! Not only that, but some of the work I do for enjoyment (like my portraits, dragons and fairies) very rarely leaves my sketchbook. I’m actually really shy about it. It’s only the encouragement of my mother, one of the lucky few to catch a glimpse of my sketchbook, that has resulted in it being posted online!

Anyway, I’ve seen what a valuable tool facebook can be in building a business, so I took a deep breath and made the page, and I would love for some of my blog friends to join me there – I know many of you also have pages of your own, so please feel free to drop them in the comments box :)

I’ll be posting works in progress, inspiration and other little insights into my own creative process on there!
